"Corine" award for Lukianenko's novel "Dances on the snow"
On 16, September 2007 Sergey Lukianenko was awarded a prestigious German prize "Corine" for his novel "Dances on the snow" in the nomination "Books for the young people".
As Lukianenko says "Corine is a beautiful statuette, which is painted by a famous couturier every year. This year the dress for Corine was made by Valentino". The organizers of the award are the Bavarian sector of the Union of German booksellers jointly with the Bavarian government and under the direct patronage of the Land Minister.
The award is relatively new, but is already known as a most prestigious prize. In different time periods such famous writers as Astrid Lingren and Ken Follett, Paulo Koelio and Joan Rowling got it. There are 9 different nominations all in all. As the organizers note themselves, the criteria of the selection are "remarkable values of the text, urgency of the touched themes and last but not least popularity among readers".
